Spring Lake - 1953
In 1953 a vicious hurricane tore up the Jersey Shore.
This was the era before we gave hurricanes names and then retired the names of the real killers so it was just known as the Hurricane of 1953.
This is what that storm did to part of the Spring Lake boardwalk and beachfront.
