Asbury 1944
What man builds nature can take in a flash. This photo shows the unbelievable damage sustained by Asbury Park during the Great Atlantic Hurricane of 1944. Convention Hall in the distance sustained damage but survived the massive storm.
I was born in AP five years after this photo. I love everything about AP. It was a great place to grow up and it is growing into a place that fits its history. AP's vices are its virtues turned upside down. You gotta love it!
This is a great photo! Even in ruin, the old A.P. Boardwalk was beautiful. It's sad we'll never see it like this again.
